man, I know some of you....

probably thought I died because I didn't post for a few days. ..actually, what happened was - my internet connection got messed up, and I couldn't really post because the speed got down to like 80kb. 56k is your dial-up speed. and you know how slow that is.

anyway, it seems everything is back to normal now. thank god!

so, what happened in the last days, you ask?

in a nutshell... the day after my last post, I just stayed home because the that day was also a thai holiday. absolutely nothing was happening.

the next day - thursday - I did go to the parking lot. but it was dead just the same. so, I left for home early. I got a call from brad pitt. he was in town for a day. told me he is going to the PI to meet up with skyman. coming back in around the 18th. yeah. he gets around. oh yeah. almost forgot. did another workout with da brain. and also, pigged out at the sizzler next door with him after the workout. that was the big event of the day.

yesterday - friday - I was quite busy. woke up early to go to the american express office to settle a problem with my amex card. finally got the issue resolved. afterwards, I did this hotel project for a friend. combed all the hotels up and down a few streets near where we all hang out. altogether, I checked out like 30 hotels to see what their current daily rates are. in between the investigation, I went over to this supermarket, and found to my pleasant surprise that they had a sale on "cheez-it" crackers. man, when I was still living in the states, I ate these things all the time for snacks. yes, it has been almost 10 years since I last ate these things. boy! was I happy to snack on a box of these guys after so many years. get this... they were going for 34 baht a box while on this sale. I plan on going back later tonight to see if they still have any boxes for sale. probably not. but who knows? right?

after 4 hours of checking out all the hotels and their rates, I went home for a power nap. got back to the parking lot at around 11pm. lots of lounge lizards out and about.

it was a good night for hanging out. had fun. got home at 3:30am. ..that was last night.

today, got a call from da brain. meeting up with some of the gang for a farewell dinner at 7pm. maybe do another workout before the dinner. that's the plan.

am hoping to see mike jagger one of these days. heard he is back in town. that's all the news for now.

the pizza buffet didn't materialize.

man, I was really set on going to this pizza buffet this afternoon. but when I got there, I was told that the pizza buffet was canceled because it was a thai holiday.

talk about a big letdown...

I had starved myself for the whole day to pig out on the pizza. and then, it wasn't to be. ugh!

so, what did I do, you ask? ..why, I ran down to the sizzler over at the siam center, and pigged out over there. that's what I did.

after dinner, I was planning on heading over to the parking lot. but when I got home to change, I suddenly had the urge to take a power nap. fell asleep on the spot. was awaken by a phone call from da brain. the time was 8:30pm.

da brain told me it was raining outside. so, initially, I was thinking of staying in. BUT I was somewhat stir crazy. at around 10pm, I got dressed and went out to the parking lot. almost nobody around. only saw jack dawson, and mr. jeeves in the parking lot. well, I take that back. I did see giggles, cherries jubilee, cutie pie 2, and lady puu. but only in passing.

I left the scene around midnight. while walking to the bus stop, I bumped into tripod, and tiger. they were taking a stroll around the neighborhood.

a non-eventful day.

..tomorrow, my plan is to make a trip over to the amex office, then, check out this new apartment. followed by maybe a short workout. that's pretty much the plan.

got word from gomer pyle.. coming over in a couple of weeks. davy crockett is in los angeles now. one step closer to the land of smiles. mike jagger should be on the plane now coming back to bangkok.

who do I know at DF King????

bangkok time - 10:15am.

just now, I got a call from someone in new york city. from some company called DF King. when I answered the phone, all I got was silence.

so, now, I'm wondering - who the fu#k do I know working at DF King???

anyway, it's tuesday. still sort of early for me. call it a toilet run. will go back to sleep in a few minutes.

I seem to recall jack dawson wanted to go do that all-you-can-eat pizza buffet that I told him about a few weeks ago. let's see if he contacts me today about it. ..jack, remember - 2 hours notice. oh hell! I might just go by myself anyway. it's been awhile since I last pigged out on pizza. for 149 baht, why not?

got an email from orcaray. coming back in october.

since I missed the parking lot yesterday, I will make it a point to go tonight. maybe make an it an early arrival after pigging out on pizza. yeah. sounds like a plan.

woke up this morning still plagued with a stiff neck. the time was about 11am.

da brain calls me up asking if I wanted to do a short workout. half asleep, I agreed. workout scheduled at sometime between 4pm and 5pm.

between 11am and 4pm, it rained for a few hours. I kept myself busy surfing the net.

we meet up at the gym at around 4:30pm. 15 minute lifecycle, 3 sets of stomach crunches, 2 sets of arm lifts, etc. basically, I complete a 45 minute workout. mind you, this is the first workout for me in like 6 months. a little tired after a warm shower, I noticed that my stiff neck was almost gone.

from the gym, da brain and I met up with tiger for dinner at this shabu shabu buffet at the mbk mall. meeting time was at 6:30pm. haven't seen tiger since last november. while pigging out on food, we talked about nothing.

we finished dinner at maybe 7:45pm. and went our separate ways. the guys had other people to meet up with. I went home to put away my gym clothes before going over to the parking lot. BUT when I got home, I found myself really tired from it all. and decided to take a power nap.

woke up at around midnight. hehehe. so, no parking lot. no lobby tonight.

after I finish up with this post, I'll go back to playing my "dawn of war 2".

last thoughts... I can't believe half of 2009 is already gone. mike jagger arriving on the 9th.

da Brain is BACK!

yesterday at around 1:30pm, I got a call from da brain. he just arrived into bangkok from the states. we agreed to meet up at the lobby later in the day.

between the call and the witching hour, I kept myself busy at home playing computer games, watching tv, surfing the net, staring at the ceiling, and twiddling my thumbs when the urge arose. (what else?)

around 5pm, I got a call from willie brown. he was calling all the way from north carolina.

at 8:30pm, I got dressed, and headed out to the lobby. got there at 9:30pm. like clockwork, da brain and beautiful appeared. over hot coffees, we updated our status with one another. da brain is here for 2 months. he informed me that tiger is here.

at 11pm, the jetlag finally got to da brain. he went home. I stayed on to shoot the breeze with timberwolf, dutch callahan, the analog man, and diamond jack.

the watcher made a surprised appearance with an enchanting lady from china. way beyond cute, I'm not sure what nickname to give her. will have to think about it some. strawberry? slim n beautiful? christmas? ..after 360+ nicknames, I plumb out of ideas. ugh!

anyway, when the watcher left, I went out into the parking lot to oogle the scene there. sort of dead. but was able to meet up with a number of lounge lizards.

went home at 2:30am with a stiff neck. not sure how it came about. thought that maybe it was because I left the air/con on last night. but on second thought, it maybe because of this mishap on one of the buses coming over - whiplash. oh well, just need to deal with it and move on.

it was the 4th of july, and ...

I didn't do anything but sleep in. the thought occurred to me to go out and celebrate a little. but I decided to just stay in and rest. after the last few consecutive days of hanging out late, my body needed a break.

perhaps it's for the best anyway, I've noticed that something is starting to go around. the swine flu? maybe not. but when people go around coughing and denying that they are sick when asked. well, that makes me think a little.

a little precaution never hurt anyone.

received a phone call from the shadow. calling all the way from the states to get the latest gossip.

it's about 3am now. and I'm feeling a lot stronger now with a day's rest. in about 10 hours, da brain should be arriving into bangkok. it will be good to see him again.

back to my computer games now....

what happened to thursday night?

I don't know how it happened. but somehow, I forgot to post what happened for thursday night? oh well....

yesterday (friday) was one jam packed day for me. started the day out by going over to the american express office at noon. for lunch, I went to the sizzler over at siam center. this branch of sizzler is fast becoming my favorite. it's probably the biggest in bangkok. packed with college students and professional types. you can enjoy eating a good meal and doing people watching at the same time.

after lunch, for some reason, I decided to shop for some shorts. not really sure what brand to buy, I decided to go to mbk and look for them there. mbk has some retail stores that sell export quality clothing selling at unbelievable prices on the 3rd floor. I went to around a dozen shops before finding a place that sold high quality shorts that I was happy with. a little more expensive than the places that sell the 150 to 250 baht cargo shorts, this place sold the "orirush brand" for 500 baht. about 15 dollars. when I got home to try them on, I came away thinking I wanted to get another pair of these "orirush" shorts. discovered from one of the tags stuck to my new shorts that this orirush company has a website, AND a factory shop just a few blocks from my place. once I found this out, I made a beeline to the factory to check it out. get this. it is a factory outlet. and they have a sale right now. they had shorts for 200 to 300 baht a piece. got 2 more.

altogether, I spent like 4 hours shopping for these new shorts. tired. I took a short hour power nap before heading out to the parking lot at 9pm.

met up with hemingway. decided to head over to the big T to hangout. bumped into singapore jimmy, and tripod along the way. tripod tells me he just got into town.

from the big T, we went back to the parking lot using the "long route". by this time, it was around midnight. a number of lounge lizards came out of the woodwork to hang out...

went home at 2:30am. 6 hours later, here I am doing this post. made myself this fruit smoothie made with fresh rambutans, ice, and an orange juice base. no plans for later this afternoon. may just go back to sleep. da brain coming in tomorrow morning.
