the big event yesterday was..

meeting up with da brain and beautiful for dinner at that all-you-can-eat oishi express buffet out in rachada.

got a phone invitation from da brain at 3pm to meet for dinner at 6pm. as it so happens, I was just waking up, and talk about hungry.. I was starving. good timing on the part of da brain.

the thought crossed my mind to call da shadow to join us. but as the invitation was unexpected, I didn't think da shadow could make it with such short notice.

anyway, when the 3 of us got to oishi express, we ate like there was no tomorrow. in less than 30 minutes, I shoveled down my mouth... a lb of salmon, another lb of other sashimi, a bowl of cream of salmon that was excellent, some king crab, a plate of duck feet, some dim sum, some shrimp tempura, a bowl of curry pork, some clam strips, one slice of chocolate cake, a small strawberry shortcake, 3 glasses of fruit punch, and at the end of the meal - a cup of hot coffee.

I love these all-you-can-eat buffets.

after the big meal, we went over to this home pro plus to check out some wall paper that da brain is looking for. we parted at around 8:30pm.

at this point, I did some grocery shopping at the carrefour that is next door to home pro plus. bought several cartons of orange juice for my stock. got home with the stuff at 9pm.

immediately, I did a quick exit out of my apartment and made my way to the lobby. eta - 10:15pm. jack dawson was lounging in the soft seats as I walked in. we talked for perhaps 30 minutes. jack has a golfing date tomorrow. so, he left at around 11pm.

I move over to the other side of the lounge and continued shooting the breeze with timberwolf, dutch callahan, and handsome chris. saw patrick o'brien pass by.

at about 12:30am, I made my way to this 24 hour diner, and ate a plate of chicken fried rice. then, slowly made my way to the front of the big T where I just stood there for like an hour taking in the scene. nobody came by.

at 2am, I went to mcdonalds. ordered up a hot cup of coffee, and sipped on it until it was time to make my way to the bus stop. bus came early at 3:05am. got home at 3:25am. and here I am doing this post.

no plans for tomorrow. jack dawson wants to do the tuesday all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. but I am not sure I want to do it yet. let's see how I feel after I do a workout at the gym.

checked out khaosan road today.

the other day, da brain invited me to check out his new hair salon over near khaosan road. and I accepted the offer. we got to his hair salon at around 12:30pm. haven't been to khaosan road in like 2 years. so, everything was new to me again.

naturally, I got a haircut while I was there. hehehe.

afterwards, we walked around khaosan road a little. seems more crowded then when I was last there.

we left the area at around 4pm. since I only got like 6 hours of sleep last night, I went back home to sleep some more. started the power nap at 5:30pm. and was woken up by a call that I received from the dude at 7:30pm. still in a daze, we talked. after shooting the breeze for about 5 minutes, I went back to sleep. then, no more than 10 minutes later, I get this text message from da shadow. "when and where are you going to eat dinner?" UGH! I seem to recall sending him a reply to his text with a confusing "no". that's all I could manage being somewhat in a daze still.

I got 8:54pm showing on my clock right now. having a tough time crunching this post out. I'm hunched over my notebook computer looking at the screen with my eyes half closed.

somehow, I get this feeling that I won't be making it to the lobby tonight.

..one last item. to malcolm.. I check out all the blogs on my blog list on a regular basis. but you may not know where I'm coming from nowadays since I use a vpn. (..mum's the word, bro.)

back to sleep.

last minute appearances.

another long but happy day. started out with my waking up at 1pm. did a load of laundry. met up with da brain at 4pm for a workout at the gym. left the gym at about 6pm. met up with beautiful. and then we all went to eat dinner at da brain's favorite restaurant - fishhead.

we left fishhead at around 7:30pm. made our way to the lobby. arrived at 8pm. hung out there until maybe 8:30pm. da brain went home at around 9pm.

after da brain left, singapore jimmy, jack dawson and buddha came by for a little while. and then they disappeared.

at 10pm, lounge lizards started to come out of the woodwork. a couple of guys whom I haven't seen in at least 2 years dropped by. the sheriff who hails from the PI came by. followed by eagle who comes from australia. we spent a couple of hours trading stories back and forth. other lounge lizards who popped out of the woodwork include.. timberwolf, the earl of nep, da shadow, dirk bonapare, jacques cousteau, the analog man, bronson, buzzsaw, the inventor, loverboy, the family guy, the canadian, jesse jackson, dalai lama, huckleberry finn, cat, barbie, honeybuns, misty, jazz.

..did I miss anyone???

by 12:30am, I was getting tired. decided to move the board meeting outside so that we could oogle and talk at the same time. at around 2am, it was just da shadow, the canadian, dirk bonapare, and I holding up the fort. left the scene at 2:35am. boarded a bus at 3:20. got home at 3:50am.

the plan for tomorrow... meet up with da brain at noon. go out to khaosan road to see his new hair salon. get haircut. nothing else on the itinerary. maybe the lobby at the witching hour.

have you ever experienced repeated phone calls from one person that borders on harassment?

to the person calling me at 4am in the morning. and making multiple phone calls for 15 minutes straight when they don't get an answer. STOP with the bullshit. I don't find it entertaining.

I've got 1pm showing on my clock. getting up now. meeting up with da brain for a workout at the gym. afterwards, dinner at the fishhead restaurant. since it is saturday night, most probably I'll be at the lobby tonight.

aaahhhhhh. Oooohhhhhh.

ham and mushroom penne...

that was the main dish at this FREE buffet that I went to tonight with da shadow and jack dawson. ham and mushroom penne with PLENTY of toasted garlic butter bread. watermelon and pineapple was dessert. I had 3 servings of this. after the meal, I was strolling down the street like an elephant. back and forth. back and forth.

yes. I was full. we left the place at around 9:30pm. made our way to the lobby. not too many lounge lizards around at the time. ..jesse jackson, richard pryor, the family guy, da shadow, the analog man, loverboy.

for some reason, we all just hung out in the lobby all night. at 11pm, I decided to go home early. made my way to the underground. hopped on the train at 11:35pm. back home at midnight.

anyway, I've got 5pm thereabouts showing on my clock right now. just woke up. whew! took long enough for my body to recuperate from the long day yesterday.

my mind is now focused on getting ready for the 8pm meeting with da shadow and jack dawson. FREE food with the purchase of a drink. WHAT A DEAL!!! lounge lizard heaven.

another busy day......

yesterday, I woke up at 10am. I knew da brain was arriving around noon. so, I went to mbk at 11:30am to hang out in the hopes of meeting up with him there. ..stupid me, I forget that his barber NOW has her own salon. so, da brain would not be following his usual routine of going to mbk on arrival into bangkok. duh.

so there I was at mbk all by my lonesome. what to do? ..I decided to do some window shopping. then, I had lunch at the food court. had my usual "khao mun gai" dish. 15 years and counting. after my "lunch", I walked over to the siam paragon mall, did a 2 hour workout at the gym. finished up at 4pm. from the gym, I went over to the IMAX movie theatre. thought to myself... didn't see that avatar movie in IMAX yet. movie starts at 5:40pm. 3 hour movie, so, I decided to go to sizzler at siam center first before watching the movie. did that.

people, avatar on the 50 foot IMAX screen is incredible. I truly recommend the experience. having saw the movie already in 3D on a standard size screen to compare, the IMAX screen is awesome! I was thoroughly impressed.

the avatar movie lasted until around 8:30pm. ..at about 8pm, I received a text from da brain. he is going to eat dinner at the lobby hotel. immediately after the movie, I made a beeline to the lobby. saw da brain and beautiful. hung out for a short half hour. then, da brain went to get a massage. I stayed behind in the lobby to hangout with all the other lounge lizards there.

ROLL CALL!.. da brain, beautiful, timberwolf, big skippy, dutch callahan, dirk bonapare, jack dawson, da shadow, diamond jack, jacque cousteau, patrick o'brien, cambodia bill, loverboy 2, handsome chris, misty, jazz, hello kitty 2, my wife. da shadow introduced me to a new guy - chow yun-fat. cool hand luke made a cameo appearance. in and out the door like in 2 minutes.

when da brain left, it was about 10pm. by this time, I was totally exhausted. while some of the lounge lizards were shooting the breeze, I was in and out snoozing away. at midnight, I got up to take a walk. stood out in the parking lot for maybe 2 hours. then, did my slow walk to the bus stop. home at 3:35am. in bed at 4am after a long hot shower. UGH!

I've got noon on my watch right now. toilet run. still tired. need more sleep. that is what happens when you are up for over 18 hours like I was yesterday.

my guess is - I won't do anything until the witching hour tonight. sleep now.

..OH. almost forgot, 8pm meeting up with da shadow and jack dawson.
