BUT I remember not too long ago, I was in the same situation, and I got a relapse. talk about being cautious this time. my plan is to wait until tonight to test the waters so to speak. I won't venture out of my place until it is parking lot time.
then, when it is time to come back home, I'll do like orcaray told me to do, and take a taxi. damn the 60 baht, I can afford it. standing in the rain for an hour to save 40 baht doesn't make any sense anymore. definitely not when you end up in bed sick for 4 days. right, guys?
yes, this lounge lizard can learn new ways. he's not that old YET.
anyway,...
except for twiddling my thumbs, and staring at the ceiling, I pretty much didn't do anything for the last few days or was it - 4 days ...5 days? goddamn! time flies... yeah. watched tv, played my computer games, etc...
my week's reserve of provisions has evaporated faster than I expected. all my fruit and fruit juices are gone. I went through that stuff like the world was coming to an end. I need to restock my food reserves sometime in the next couple of days.
that pretty much sums up my life at this point. feeling great. but not ready to test the waters yet UNTIL tonight.
who knows? ..maybe I'll even go to the big T and order up a plate of chicken wings with a cup of hot coffee. that would make my day. perhaps I'll see dennis the menace, and the x-man there too?
to big skippy... when you live in thailand, the odds of getting a girlfriend is very high when you consider that - there are 3x more girls than guys in bangkok. just make sure you pick the right person to have a relationship with. otherwise, it could be more trouble than it is worth.
I rather be alone than have to deal with somebody who complains all the time, spends money like water, or is addicted to shopping, gambling, smoking, drinking, drugs...
yeah. I hear you guys in the back. ..maybe I need a nun, you say? that's something to think about.
the last thing I want to do is get hooked up with somebody who has 2 kids, a mom, and 2 brothers, etc. to take care of. you will never have any peace if you got suckered into one of those deals.
to all you rookies out there... REMEMBER! a genuine relationship with someone usually entails a relationship with a family. and with a poor family, it could mean a support group numbering in the dozens WHERE YOU may end up being the ATM!
mark my words!
so much for my sermon... guess I'll get back to my spellforce 2.

wise words BB.
Look for a nun from a rich family. LOL. Choose wisely.
agree 100% BB. in my eight years here, i figure that the goldilocks test is the way to go - not too rich (spoiled) but not too poor (then they become your burden). preferably from bangkok and with supportive parents who put her through school. someone who has her own (real) job. someone without baggage (i.e. kids). and hate to say it, but ideally of chinese background.
there are lots of girls like this, unfortunately they don't hang out at the parking lot. i've been lucky enough to have one for over four years now - i just hope i don't screw it up!
