trying to keep up with luke skywalker.

the days of being able to do 100 meter sprints all day are GONE! yesterday, I started the day meeting up with luke at 11am, and ended the day at 11:30pm with an aching back and swollen feet.

when I asked luke how he felt like after running around all day, he made it sound like he didn't even break a sweat yet. (talk about feeling old.)

superman rookie - luke skywalker.

so, what happened yesterday to get me so tired by the time midnight rolled around, you ask?

like I said, I met up with luke at 11am. we did the chatuchak flea market for about 3 hours. UGH! then, headed over to the esplanade mall to oogle the scene there. (bumped into hawaiian bob while exploring that mall.) if I recall right, the clock was showing 3pm at that time.

got this call from da shadow. he's interested in joining us for dinner somewhere. I suggest the shabusushi place in esplanade. ok, so, it was to be dinner at 6pm.

while shooting the breeze with luke, he suddenly tells me in so many words that he is interested in living in bangkok. my reply was.. "really?" hehehe.

the next thing you know.. we are talking about apartments. and I suggest to luke that he come over to my place and look at the units there. bing, bang, and a boom. ..we are at my place. and luke looks at some of the units. thinking, thinking, thinking. I can just imagine all the stuff going through his head trying to figure out how to prepare for the move over. hehehe.

anyway, I didn't get my power nap. but somehow, luke was able to get something like 15 minutes of sleep before we head on over to the shabusushi place for dinner.

come 6pm, like clockwork, we meet up with da shadow, and eat. we leave shabusushi at 7:30pm, and do a beeline to the parking lot. along the way, luke says he wants to see some gogo bars. (?) ...so, we go to a couple in soi cowboy, and one in nana plaza. rainbow 4 was a big disappointment. drinks are now 145 baht. UGH! and that was for a soft drink. last time I'll go there, guys. (I will need to come up with a replacement lounge lizard gogo bar later when I have the time.)

from the gogo bars, we went to the loooobby. full of lounge lizards. even met a new one. friend of jack dawson. his nickname will be "buddha". jack suggested it. so, buddha it'll be.

so, who was in the lobby last night, you ask? ..let's see. over to the right was the new york cop, howling howie, the sarge. to the left, luke skywalker, chicago joe, the barber, the analog man, willie brown. spiderman joined us after the board meeting started.

later in the night, hawaiian bob makes a cameo appearance with his buddy, princeton. princeton is in a party mood. maybe even a little drunk? we start talking about things that only guys in general talk about. this goes on for awhile.

around 11pm thereabouts, I start to fall asleep. da shadow who left us after dinner calls me up to see how long I will be hanging out. my reply was - going home. too tired to hang out anymore. for some reason, da shadow doesn't seem to hear what I said to him. this is evidently the case because when I get home around midnight, I am still getting phone calls from him. weird.

frankly, I was just too tired to carry on with anymore discussions. so, I turned the phone off. sorry, bro. I was so tired, I didn't even have the energy to keep my eyes open.

this is what happens when you try to keep up with superman rookie - luke skywalker.

writing this post during my toilet run. time to get back to sleep.

bb, it sounds like luke is sold on coming to thailand. if he's still young and needs to work, he might want to plan to find a job first. lots of foreigners come here after retiring early and become stuck. not a good idea if you're in your twenties or thirties.
