some soul searching.

after my last post, I took a 2 hour power nap.  woke up at 7:30pm thereabouts.  diddled around my room.  finally got this spare duffel bag that I've been thinking about for the last 2 weeks.

between 8pm and 9pm, I made all these phone calls to people to confirm arrival and departure dates.

just got word that bruce in sacramento won't be around on the date that I had planned. june 15. YIKES! so, I'm not sure what to do now.

talking to F7 in san francisco...  I'm ok to stay with him for a week.  ..but during our little talk, I'm starting to think seriously about returning to the land of smiles earlier.  need some more thought.

I got word from vito in sacramento that I'm good for a day or 2 in sac.

db cooper wanted to know when I will be in sacramento.

another YIKES!  ..what to do?

if you are wondering why I'm thinking of returning to thailand earlier then my current return date of july 3, wonder no more...

here's the scoop...

I've spent about 400 dollars more than I was planning to spend for last month.  and unlike our government, it bugs me to go over budget.  I've been pretty much on budget all my life.  and now, I get into this.  a 3rd YIKES!

bottomline, I can afford it.  but going over budget drives me into panic mode sometimes.  I'm not used to it.

anyway, I think I'll go take a walk now.  try to ease my mind a little.  tomorrow is another day.

Perhaps you didn't realistically estimate the cost of living in the USA. If it's only $400 budget, then you're not doing too bad. I did mention that you may get sticker shock after having been away from the States as long as you have. Your expenses would have been more if it weren't for some of your generous friends, but you shouldn't really rely on them. Just my two cents.

a very applaudable trait BB. The government and many households could benefit from following your diligence on this.

bro, has it ever occurred to you that many people treat me because I went out of my way to show them a good time in thailand?

over the years, I've shown literally hundreds if not thousands of people around bangkok and pattaya.

and I did it not for monetary compensation, but because I simply wanted them to be happy.

so, they want to treat me to a buffet for the good time I shown them. what's the big deal?

when you say I'm relying on them, you may not realize this. but you are looking down on me.

when I came to your aid not once but twice, do you think of that gesture as YOU relying on me?

I was your tour guide for your first time in cambodia. remember? do you think YOU were relying on me then?

bro, you need to chill out with the insulting comments.

Sorry you took it that way, no insult intended. I do really appreciate your help in the past and please don't take it personally. Economists attempt to make their best estimates based on certain factors and are often wrong. The cost of living in the US is about 50% more than Thailand, your budget should reflect that. It appears that you've only budgeted about the same amount in the US as you have in Thailand.
