I sat on the toilet earlier today for like an hour hoping that by excreting everything out of my body, my flu would miraculeously go away.

I did my "yojokun" of circling my upper body while sitting on the toilet seat continuously for the whole hour. ..every now and then rotating in the opposite direction so as to maximize my the amount of each excretion as it came out.

for those of you who are unfamiliar with "yojokun", you can read up on the concept in the book, "yojokun - the book of life nourishing principles - by kaibara ekken."

so, anyway, I did my yojokun circles for close to an hour.

..ugh. ..ugh. ....uggggggh. Aaaahhhhhhh!

did it help me get rid of my flu, you ask? ..since I still have this splitting headache, I guess not. but at least I am not full of shit now, right?

it's day 4 of the flu for me. still miserable, still staring at the ceiling.

got a message from the shadow. it seems he has been sidelined too for a while. broken leg in his case.

the watcher called me. he's back in town. da brain also called. my best buddy watching out for me. augusto also called me. but I think he just wanted to tease me because I was sick.

I think I'll get back to sleep now. going into hibernation mode.

another day of the same, troopers. still in bed, still staring at the ceiling.

getting stronger though. just finished eating this huge serving of singapore noodles that I cooked up. jesus! my stomach is so full. earlier today, I watched tv, and played my computer game. SOTSE - 4 months and counting.

got calls from dennis the menace, gomer pyle, super glenn, and da brain. all wondering what I am doing. everybody wants to hang out. ..if it wasn't for being sick, I would like to hang out too.

being sick sucks - BIGTIME!!!

NOT only does being sick keep me away from going to buffets, it also keeps me from hanging out at the lobby. AND let's not forget, I cannot oogle girls either.

talk about the shit hitting the fan.

life sucks right about now.

anyway, before I go off the deep end, I think I will finish this post.

around 4pm, I went and hung out with da brain for a short hour, and then went home to recuperate. that was it. my WHOLE day.

still sick. still miserable. still staring at the ceiling. my energy levels are so low, I don't even have energy to mess around in the corner of my room.

I think I'll get some more sleep now.

boy! did I get bummed out yesterday or WHAT??! this morning, I woke up sore all over again. not sure how it happened. was it from the passing kiss I received from a friend? maybe it was from one of the handshakes that I received from a number of people? or perhaps it was from someone on one of the public buses that I ride on during the day?

who knows?....

all I know is - I ended up laying in bed AGAIN staring at the ceiling for the whole fu#king day.

shit happens.

da brain called me earlier in the day to see if I would like to hang out. but alas, my beautiful body didn't want to get up. my big beautiful body didn't want to do anything but lay there in bed. ugh!

it's about 2am right now. I am feeling somewhat better. but my back still aches. I think I'll feel well enough tomorrow to hangout again. but you never know.

..you lounge lizards out there who think you will be able to run around like a spring chicken when you reach middle age, keep on dreaming.

if you know what is good for you, you will get your ass over here asap. time doesn't wait for no one. you may find yourself in a "box" sooner than you think.

get those happy memories BEFORE it is too late.

my sleeping hours got totally messed up today. instead of normal schedule of going to sleep around 6am each day, waking up for a toilet run at around 9am, back to sleep at 11am, then, finally waking up at 4pm.

..I woke up at 9am and didn't go back to sleep until midnight. and now, I am a little sick again.

so, what happened to push me off my schedule, you ask?

at 12:30pm, I got a call from da brain. he is back in town. just arrived at the airport.

at 3:30pm, I had to meet up with dennis the menace to help him out with this gym membership thing.

at 6pm, I met up with some of the lounge lizards for a mooo ka-tat.

at 9pm, I met up with da brain over in the lobby to pick up some stuff, and shoot the breeze a little.

yes, I think I did a little too much earlier today. I NEED to slow down.

by the time, the clock ticked 11pm, I was yawning big time, and could hardly keep my eyes open. ugh! got home at 11:30pm, fell asleep. it is now about 3am. woke up to get something to drink.

in a minute, it'll be some more beauty sleep.

in about 3 hours, my good buddy, da brain, will be back in town to hangout some more. he left the land of smiles about 2 months ago. ..BACK again for some more moooo ka-tats. YEAH!

...last night started out with my meeting up with gomer pyle over at the lobby. he was last here about a year ago. other lounge lizards at the lobby were the sarge, timberwolf, and the priest. we chatted a little. it turns out the sarge and gomer pyle were stationed here in bangkok at about the same time way back when.

during the discussions, I received a text from errol flynn. he was at a gogo bar. asked gomer pyle if he wanted to go to the gogo bar. he replied, "sure". so, off we went.

we went to the rainbow 4 gogo bar. lo and behold. not only did I see errol flynn. dennis the menace, the x-man, and tiger were also there. tiger just arrived into town earlier in the day. the rage nowadays seems to be surprise appearances. we hung out at rainbow 4 for one drink. then, left and went back to the lobby. that is more my scene when you really think about it. another hour of conversation.

around 1am, errol flynn and the other bay area boys came over to join us in the soft seats. errol tells me that dirk bonapare is outside in the parking lot. so, I go out there to shoot the breeze with him a little. he is leaving in a few days. something about wanting to go back home and make gobs and gobs of money.

received a call from denver terry. he is in love again. cannot go to pattaya tomorrow. a couple of other lounge lizards are going though. I decide to stay in town until later in the week.

around 2am, OBwan comes by with a new guy. another rookie about to leave town. going through the bangkok blues? not sure. over to the side, I saw the guru, ray liotta, jacques cousteau, and boris. OBwan tells me that the silver surfer left town. tripod also left town.

overall, the scene was really slow. around 3:30am, I decided to leave. went to mcD for my snack before going home. turns out the bay area boys had the same idea. wolfed down a cheeseburger value meal. took the bus home. that was yesterday.

...later on today, I am suppose to meet up with dennis the menace for gym membership. then, later meet up with dirk bonapare for a mooo ka-tat.

there are some other things on the platter. but I cannot remember them at the moment. ugh! another senior moment.

back to sleep.

woke up for my toilet run. checked my email. lo and behold! gomer pyle tells me he is in town now. last night, he looked for me in the loooobby. but I wasn't there.

..yes, last night my power nap that was suppose to last for an hour accidentally became 4 hours. I ended up meeting some other lounge lizards at the big T late at around 11pm. from there, we all went to the parking lot. but it was late. around midnight.

tonight, I will go hang out a little earlier. maybe I will see gomer pyle then.

anyway, earlier in the day yesterday, at around 4pm, a bunch of us lounge lizards met up at this sizzler for a feast. lizards attending include denver terry, augusto, dirk bonapare, rookie 1, the priest, and yours truly. had a good time. finished dinner at 6pm. afterwards, I went to get a haircut. then, went home for that "hour" nap that turned into 4 hours.

some of the lounge lizards are talking of going to pattaya for a couple of days. originally, I thought of going on friday. but I forgot that da brain is coming into town on saturday. pattaya may be monday now. we'll see...

back to sleep....

denver terry enters the scene.

last night while lounging in the soft seats, denver terry made a surprise appearance. enter stage right. before he came in, I was shooting the breeze with the sarge, timberwolf, the traveler, duece bigalow, and brian piccolo.

yes, denver terry made an entrance. and get this. he looks like he did the first time I saw him way back when. ..12 years? blue jeans, white t-shirt, sneakers, and a baseball cap. the all american boy.

after maybe 15 minutes of shooting the breeze in the lobby, we went outside to check out the scene in the parking lot. dead. ..so, we went to the big T. somewhat average showing. we did the bar hop shuffle. inside, outside, back to the parking lot, lobby, parking lot. I introduced denver terry to all the lounge lizards that we bumped into along the way. ..craig constantine, errol flynn, dennis the menace, mike jagger, clint eastwood.

2 cute girls popped out of the woodwork along the way. hmmmm?...

before you know it, the time showing on the clock was 2am. where did the time go? jesus. I cannot remember the names of the girls we just spoke to. alzheimers?

the traveler tells me he is leaving tonight in about 4 hours. we all give him our sad farewells. clint eastwood tells me the stock market took another 400 point dump again. ugh! we meet 2 new people. one guy looks like that movie actor - roddy mcdowall. another is a friend of mike jagger. still no sight of davy crockett or gomer pyle.

...a lot of new talent.

around 3am, people start to fall asleep. denver terry and I go to mcD for a snack. when we get back to the parking lot, the sarge makes a cameo appearance. returning from the internet place. super glenn joins up with us. he is full of energy. at the very end of the night, mike jagger appears again.

the jetlag finally gets to denver terry. he leaves. super glenn, mike jagger and I go over to this place for some rice porridge. 25 baht. what a deal. not as tasty as the rice porridge in china, but good enough.

the time was about 4:30am. super glenn calls it a night. mike jagger is starting to sway back and forth. we decide to take a taxi back home. I get back to my apartment at 5:30am. still full of energy. what did you expect? I woke up at 8pm.

I woke up at 8am for a toilet run, and to do this post. plan for later today. meet up at the sizzler at 4pm. all lounge lizards welcome. back to sleep now.

reminded me of a spring day back in san francisco. it was cool with a slight breeze. it felt great just hanging out in the parking lot doing nothing.

I met 2 new lounge lizards last night. for now, I will call them rookie 1, and rookie 2. if I see them more often, nicknames will be provided.

although I didn't see davy crockett or gomer pyle like I had expected, a few other lounge lizards made appearances - super glenn, the traveler, and barnaby.

had this interesting conversation with one lounge lizard. the information I got from him has given me cause to reconsider living in the philippines again. perhaps for 2 months each year. it appears there are living arrangements that I can find in the locations that I am interested in residing in which are within my budget requirements. looking forward to doing the research.

the highlight of my night out last night was this beer that errol flynn treated me to in the parking lot. I got a buzz. yeah. one beer does it for me.

the scene was slow. but the temperatures were excellent for hanging out. I hung out until about 3:30am. then, went to burger king for a snack before going home.

no plans for later today. promised someone that I would be at the lobby tonight. but I cannot remember who it was??? oh well. like da brain says. ...a senior moment.

last week, it was some of the bay area boys, this week, it will be some of the la boys. you would think the meltdown didn't occur. but then, we all know that is not true. what we have here are the lounge lizard loyalists doing what they normally do each year - come rain or shine.

yesterday was another above average day. it started out with my meeting up with errol flynn, dennis the menace, and the x-man for a foot massage at around 6pm. after the foot massage, we went to this side walk cafe famous for khao moon gai (steamed chicken over rice) - good stuff. then, it was a taxi back to their hotel. from their hotel, I went over to the big T to hang out.

macDonald came by to chat. the priest also came by. and a bit later, errol flynn, dennis the menace, and the x-man.

one beer later, I left the big T, and went to the lobby where I found the sarge relaxing in a soft seat. we talked about nothing for a while. I left the lobby around 2:30am, and went to the 24 hour supermarket to get some supplies. along the way, I bumped into singapore jimmy on the street. he was staring off into the sunset for some reason. we talked for perhaps 5 minutes.

after doing my grocery shopping, I went to burger king for my "dinner" before going home to sleep.

no fight tonight.

this morning, I did nothing but sleep until around 6pm. yeah. I can be quite a sleepyhead sometimes. I woke up for toilet runs a couple of times. but now, I am wide awake. the time is 9:29pm. I have to clean up in a few minutes. time for the lobby scene again. time flies so fast....

received email from gomer pyle, davy crockett, and the blonde surfer dude. appears gomer pyle, and davy crockett will be in town this week. another couple of lounge lizard loyalists that I mentioned about earlier.

got to run now. it's looooobby time.

bailout for GM?

I was just reading this article about the impending demise of General Motors (GM) and came away wondering what happened?.. and what is the solution to the problems there?

the author of the article is saying that GM is going bankrupt because they cannot compete with the japanese auto makers. the article continues with saying a team of engineers at GM were placed together to come up with a competing car, and were not able to do so because the cost structure at GM is too high.

so, what can be done, the author asks?

not knowing the details, my first thoughts were - GM, you put together the WRONG team. ..if you put together a bunch of idiots, what do you expect?

some thoughts...
if india can put together the tata car for about 2500 dollars, why can't GM do the same? if necessary, GM could do what the japanese did a long time ago, JUST COPY what the other guy does. right? you could even hire the same guys in india. it's a no brainer. even a lounge lizard like me can figure that out. duh!

another thing, after reading some more articles along the same topic, I noticed that ford, GM, etc. seem to always have to spend outrageous sums of money to open new factories overseas. sums in the realm of 500 million dollars. ..a billion dollars are quoted as being necessary to build an auto factory overseas. my question to these guys.. why are these outrageous amounts necessary??? how many cars do you need to sell to breakeven on this massive expenditure? if the local companies can setup a factory for less, what is forcing GM and ford to spend more? (sounds like a scam to me. ..kickbacks anyone?)

something to consider... perhaps GM, and ford are not exporting the factories overseas to save money, perhaps they are doing this so that they can illegally manipulate the money that they are making away from america. somehow, the idea that our CEO at GM are concerned about resolving world proverty doesn't add up. especially after what happened with the recent real estate meltdown.

in the midst of a war, and high inflation, germany back in the early part of the last century were able to come up with the volkswagen beetle. they didn't need to build billion dollar factories to produce these cars. nor did they need to export their jobs overseas to build them.

hell, the american people don't need anything special, just reproduce the volksbeetle with some minor changes so as not to infringe on any possible patent infringement with volkswagen. that's all it would take.

if india can do it, america can do it, too. YES, WE CAN.

if GM doesn't want to make a copy of the original volkswagen beetle, just go to some automotive design school, pick up some graduating students, provide them with the schematics for the old volkswagen beetle, provide some funding, and let them have a go at it. I am sure they could make a car better than the one india is building and without building a 500 million dollar factory.

when you really think about it, isn't that what india is doing? making a copy of the old volkswagen beetle. hehehe.

in the meantime, to allow OUR new company to compete, put some tariffs on any imported cars. nothing wrong with tariffs as "some" would suggest. teddy roosevelt is quoted as saying in so many words, "it is our duty to america to protect it from unfair trade."

bring back the jobs. bring back the factories. do what india is doing, and make a clone of the volkswagen beetle. better yet, make it "green". maybe a hybrid combustion engine with a switch to either gasoline, LPG, or hydrogen. from what I have read, minor adjustments in the air/fuel mix is all that is necessary when using the different fuels.

there you have it. the solution to the demise of the american auto industry in a nutshell.

I was involved in scuffle last night. I say it was a scuffle, not a fight because the opposing party didn't really make any effort to fight back after the initial contact.

so, what happened, you ask?

..there we were hanging out at this mcdonalds shooting the breeze, basically having a great time while chomping down on burgers and fries. when all of a sudden, this crazy caucasian guy approached errol flynn and assaulted him for no apparent reason at all.

just before the crazy guy hit errol flynn he said something along the lines quote, "I don't like what you say about other people."

you can imagine what happened the minute this crazy guy pounched on our friend. the 5 of us jumped on him at the same time.

I think the crazy guy was somewhat surprised to see that errol flynn was not by himself. I say this because when he saw that 5 of us came to the aid of errol flynn, he basically stopped fighting.

he kept raving about how we should all leave the country. how we shouldn't be here. thinking that perhaps he was thai, I asked where he was from. his reply was - england. (?)

so, there you have it - a crazy british guy telling 4 americans and a canadian that we shouldn't be in thailand. was the guy drunk? I don't know. he didn't smell of alcohol.

the whole scuffle lasted for perhaps 10 minutes max. after a few minutes of being a total asshole, the crazy british guy left us alone.

some hours later, I thought about the whole thing, and came away wondering for a brief moment what possessed the crazy guy to assault my friend? was he mentally retarded? a religious fanatic that traveled all the way from britain to preach the gospel in bangkok, thailand? or was he simply drunk?

whatever... the whole event is now out of my mind. not worth anymore of the precious time that I have left on this planet.

..back to the loooobby.

the day started out with my joining up with frank sinatra for dinner at shabusushi at around 6pm. we waited for about an hour for our seats. the place was packed. we finished dinner at around 8:15pm.

frank sinatra and I then separated. I did some window shopping. at around 9:30pm, I went to the parking lot. nobody there at that time. decided to go to the big T. the place was packed. a quick glance showed that at least 15 lounge lizards were hanging out here at the same time. a first.

at around midnight, a few of us went back over to the parking lot. hung out there for an hour. at 2:30am, we went to the mcD for a snack. this is when we had the "rumble at mcD".

after leaving mcD, I decided to do the 40 minute walk back home. got home around 4:30am.

except for the "rumble", it was just another above average night in bangkok.

the news just seems to be getting worse. over 240,000 jobs gone for the month of october alone! general motors losing money. ford losing money. chrysler losing money. jesus! when will we hear some good news?

obama has a tough job ahead for him. I wish him the best.

if the opinions of a lounge lizard mean anything, I suggest obama enforce immigration laws and deport all the illegals. stop giving away so much of our money to foreign aid. stop private individuals from donating so much money overseas. bring back our jobs that were outsourced overseas. and consider bringing back our factories too.

if he does the above, america will have a balanced budget, and americans will be happy.

like the rest of the world keep telling us quote, "america shouldn't be policing the world." and I agree with this statement.

america donates so much money to the rest of the world, and instead of some thanks, some appreciation, we get this attitude like it is their "right" to receive the money. well, I say "fuck that". the money should be given to an american in need, a struggling american student attending one of our universities, or perhaps to some young american couple just starting out.

ok, ok, I hear you all in the back - quit ranting.

so, what happened today, you ask?

stayed home all day. just watched tv, did some research on the net, and played computer games. didn't spend a dime. ahhhhhh. ooohhhhh.

got a call from errol flynn. he just arrived into town. he told me that dennis the menace is coming tomorrow. funny. earlier today, I got a call from castro. he's coming into town tomorrow too. next week, da brain will be here. and denver terry just might be here too. in an email that I received from him about 2 months ago, denver terry told me that he would be arriving shortly after the presidential election.

received an email from orca ray. he is on his way back to canada. super glenn responded to one of my emails.

life is good.

since I didn't spend any money today, I might treat myself to a nice buffet somewhere. got to think about it some. ..shabusushi sounds good. I wonder if some of the other lounge lizards would be interested?

guess I'll get some sleep now. it's about 6am.

anyway, so what happened at the ok corral last night, you ask?

the day started out with my getting a call from frank sinatra at around 3pm. he woke me up. in somewhat of a daze, I received the news that some other lounge lizards are leaving soon. ..dela vega, orca ray. my body was still in coma mode. so, I laid there in bed for like an hour staring at the ceiling before actually getting up.

around 4pm, I finally got out of bed. got on the internet, checked out the email, the news. ..thinking back to the last couple of days, I really got pushed out of commission staying up all night watching the presidential election. ugh! I don't think I want to do that again.

after a load of laundry, a couple of hours playing my computer game, my "breakfast", shower, I finally got out the door at around 9pm. went directly to the big T. hung out there for 2 hours. frank sinatra, brian piccolo, and duece bigalow granted me the honor of their presence.

I got to the parking lot at around 11:30pm. saw the guru in his usual spot. boris is back in town. back from pattaya. he is also in his usual spot. he is wearing a new shirt. (..joke. boris knows I have like 5 shirts. and he teases me all the time on my wardrobe. quote, "blue shirt today, huh?")

after waving to all my fans in the parking lot, I went into the lobby. lounge lizards residing in the softseats there include timberwolf, handsome chris, the sarge, the priest, lady puu, rookie a, rookie b. peter o'toole made a surprise appearance. haven't seen him in like a year. wondered what happened to him? turns out he moved out of the city, and is just back for a couple of days.

I went back out into the parking lot around 1am. nothing much happening. saw sweetheart. clint eastwood passed by. told me the stock market was down 500 points. rookie a came out and joined me for a bit. he was in commando mode. wanted to do some search and retrieve. asked me to join him. but being the lazy guy that I am, I declined the offer. late like around 2am, cool hand luke, frank sinatra, and augusto came by. looks like they were a little drunk. they wanted to party. again, being the lazy guy that I am, I declined their offer to join them.

I ended up alone in the parking lot with my mind up in the stars thinking about my existance in this world while oogling some girls. physically, I felt great. and my mind was relaxed. no worries. no headaches. empty. ..happy.

went to burger king for my "dinner". the time was about 3:30am.

after dinner, I decided to do a slow walk back home. the streets were empty. I took my merry time. and got home at around 5am.

did some research on the net, then, fell asleep.

...it is about 11am now. I feel sort of ok. have energy. maybe not go back to sleep. hmmmm?... yeah. I think I will go to mbk. haven't had my khao mun gai over rice in a long time. afterwards, I can window shop cell phones.

last night, I went to the lobby around midnight. hung out for a few hours. had another round of debate with deuce bigalow. there was a fair number of lounge lizards out and about. had another great time of it all.

but all through the night, my mind was on the presidential election in the states. when I got home from the lobby last night, I immediately turned on the tv and soaked in the news.

get this. I got so immersed into the event. so immersed that I haven't gone to sleep yet. hehehe. I have been up all night.

the time is about 1pm now. now that I know the results of the election - obama is our next president. I think I will get some sleep now.

will I be able to make it to the lobby later tonight? who knows...?

well, the day has finally arrived. everybody in america is voting for the next president of the united states of america. ..who will it be? obama? mccain? that is the big question.

the time here in bangkok is about 9pm. I was plenty tired from yesterday. so tired in fact - it took me the whole day today to recuperate. but here I am, ready for another night of fun and games.

since I want to catch a couple of hours of the election related news back in the states, I don't plan on going to the lobby until late. probably around midnight. midnight here in bangkok is about 9am back in san francisco, california.

some interesting things that I am currently doing research on..
1) the amero.
2) thailand flood seasons.
3) emergency evacuation plans.

had another great day hanging out with some of the lounge lizards yesterday. the "day" started out with 6 of us meeting up at this sizzler at around 5pm for a late lunch. lizards present include orca ray, augusto, hawaiian bob, the priest, frank sinatra, and yours truly. we finished up at around 7:30pm.

afterwards, a few of us walked around the mall window shopping. I got home eventually at 8:30pm. took a power nap for an hour (ate too much). woke up, and dashed off to the big T to meet up with orca ray, frank sinatra, and augusto. I hung out with them for about 2 hours. then, I decided to go and hang out at the lobby.

at the lobby, I hooked up with the sarge and dela vega. a couple of new guys came by. friends of the sarge. they were bouncing off the walls with so much energy. ..I got this feeling that I was suppose to show them around some. but when I said I wake up late, that sort of chilled that discussion.

around 1am, the lobby filled up with more lounge lizards. eventually, the group wandered out into the parking lot. we carried on until about 3:30am. I finished up in the parking lot shooting the breeze with duece bigalow. went over to burger king for a snack. got home at around 5:30am. played my computer game for an hour. went to sleep around 7am. overall - a fun night.

BREAKING NEWS!!! - WOW! I can hear the rain come down outside. cats and dogs stuff.

I guess I'll go back to sleep now. might as well. rain and all. will wake up just in time to check out the election.

we had one of our lounge lizard forums in the parking lot last night. besides discussion on how to retire over here in thailand, we also got into some economic issues. and of course, we talked about the upcoming presidential election.

...we even had our own lounge lizard presidential poll. imagine that? (3 for obama. 2 for mccain. we had another vote for obama. but he was canadian. so, his vote doesn't count. hehehe.)

I had a great time hanging out last night.

last night started out with my meeting up with frank sinatra over at the big T. the time was about 10:30pm. the place was packed with people. I counted over 40 prospects lined up on the right. at least 10 on the left. somchai came by and asked me why I wasn't at the lobby. funny guy. frank was bouncing off the walls. told me he was on his 4th heineken already. around 11:30pm, I left the scene, and went over to the looooobby.

at the loooooobby, we had a small board meeting. lounge lizards were coming out of the woodwork. after about an hour of discussion in the soft seats, we moved the meeting out into the parking lot. that was when we really got into the discussions on the upcoming presidential election. ..palin doesn't cut it? ..obama is muslim? ..mccain is not pro-illegal? ..biden is experienced? (in what? ..saying yes?) the discussion got a little heated. but then, that's part of why it is fun.

around 1am thereabouts, hawaiian bob, and dirk bonapare popped in from somewhere. hawaiian bob looked like he was a little drunk. the guy can drink. if I had to make a guess, he was probably on his 8th beer.

talk, talk, talk... that is all we did last night. that plus oogle girls.

life is great. life is grand. ..in thailand.

I left the scene at around 4am. ..and here I am - doing this post.

did you know that in america, we have these campaign finance laws that say it is against the law for our politicians to accept money from foreigners and use it in their campaigns?

the campaign finance laws are very explicit. NO to illegal contributions.

the penalty for breaking this law is a fine, and/or "up to 5 years" in prison. sound good?

well, get this. no where in the law does it say that a politician cannot serve out the term of office if elected.

am I missing something here???

last night in the lobby was slow. not complaining. we had a number of lounge lizards hanging out. but overall, the people out and about was low in numbers.

there I was playing my computer game at 3pm in the afternoon earlier today. all of a sudden, I receive this phone call. guess who it is? ..dirk. dirk bonapare is back. he did a surprise appearance. we agree to meet at 6pm for dinner at the sizzler. we do the feast routine, and chomp down on everything in sight. went home at around 8pm.

I had thought about going out to the lobby tonight. it's halloween night, and all. but then, it started raining. ....and well, we all know how I feel about the rain.

maybe for the best, I need some rest. it's been the lobby for 4 nights in a row now for me. I need a break from the scene. I am not a spring chicken anymore.

until tomorrow then. think happy memories....

I'm watching obama making a speech in missouri right now. and it jumps at you why he will probably win the election.

he preaches what he will do in improving the usa. mccain on the other hand keeps pushing "character assassination".

yes, I know obama is probably lying a lot. but he keeps talking about the problems in the world, and how he plans on resolving them. ....while mccain just keeps plugging away telling everybody how bad obama is.

I hear the talk about how obama..
1) is receiving campaign funds from overseas sources (which is illegal).
2) is muslim.
3) is not an american citizen.

AND if true, obama could very easily be disqualified from the election. SO, my question is - WHY then doesn't the opposition present it's case to the courts and have obama disqualified???

our jobs should NOT be exported overseas. our factories should NOT be exported overseas. we should NOT have free trade agreements with other countries that are unfair to america. we should not have TRILLION dollars trade debts with other countries. we should NOT be supporting non-citizens with american taxpayers money like we are doing with the illegal aliens.

I want a new president that agrees with me on the above issues. and I really don't care who it is as long as they work for america and americans.

I'm sick and tired of our politicians throwing HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars EACH year at other countries. the money should be spent on americans, and america. GODDAMIT!!

...anyway,.. that is enough ranting for one post. ..let's move on to the loooobby before I get a heart attack.

yesterday started out with some of the lounge lizards gathering at this "hot pot" place for a late lunch. the time was 5pm. afterwards, we went to check out a soapie, and a thai massage place. around 8pm, we all separated. I went to the big T for a beer. yes, you heard me right, I had a beer. the first one in like 5 months. I left the big T at around 10pm. went to the lobby. there were a number of lounge lizards out and about. we had a board meeting. really late like 2am, the sarge, rookie, and I went to the NEW mcDonalds next door for a midnight snack. and that was it - the whole day in a nutshell. I got home at around 4:30am. played my computer game for an hour or so. and fell asleep.

my mind is still scrambled a bit. not fully awake yet. don't remember everything that happened yesterday. no plans for later today. think I'll go back to sleep for a few more hours.

barnaby used to be one of the lounge lizards who used to frequent the lobby everyday. that stopped about a year ago when he moved to pattaya. anyway, last night, barnaby made a surprise appearance and came by to hang out with us all.

earlier in the day, I got a call from orca ray. he was calling from pattaya. coming back friday.

didn't really do much yesterday. just did what comes natural for a lounge lizard. laid around in bed until I went to the lobby. wasn't sick or anything.

got word that mike jagger was in jomtien with his mom. returning to bangkok today.

tomorrow is halloween. something different.

now that I am awake, I need to decide on whether I want to go to mbk for a looksee, go to the gym, OR just go back to sleep.

life is tough with all these decisions.

an interesting event happened yesterday. the number of posts that I have written for this blog has reached 1,000! it took about 4 years for me to reach this point. quite an accomplishment for me when you think about it. being a lounge lizard, you would think that I was not capable of keeping something like this going for so long.

lounge lizards RULE!!!! hehehe.

yesterday was a busy day for me. it started out with my receiving a call from frank sinatra. "back from pattaya, going to a buffet out in rachada, wanna go?" the time was about 1pm in the afternoon. "why not?" I replied. arranged to meet up at 6pm.

after hanging up the phone, I went back to sleep for a couple of hours. woke up at 3pm thereabouts. cleaned up. and headed out the door to my place at around 4pm. boarded a bus and got to rachada in like 30 minutes. it was early. I decided to do some window shopping. combed through the many shops they had at the jusco rachada. things to remember.... cleaning stone - 10 baht; drain cleaner tool - 60 baht.

frank sinatra got there early too. we started into the feast at around 5:30pm. we ate until about 7:30pm. oishi express is one of my favorite restaurants in bangkok. but because it is one of the more expensive restaurants that I go to, I only go there like once a month. bill came to about 380 baht per person. we left the place stuffed. hardly able to walk. frank decided to take a power nap. I left him and went to the big T. the time was about 8:30pm. almost nobody there. too early.

left big T, and got to the parking lot at around 10pm. many lounge lizards out and about.

they are having this big budget problem that enrages me to no end.

I know, I know... I'm living in thailand now. WHY am I so enraged, you say?

well, to put it bluntly, I still consider california my primary home. it is where I lived for 20 years before I came to the land of smiles. where I spent the best years of my life before retiring. the place will always be a concern to me.

anyway, so, why does the budget problem in california enrage me so much, you ask?

simple. if the authorities just deported all the illegal aliens in that state, they wouldn't have a budget problem.

ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL.

here in thailand, if you are illegal, they just deport you back to your home country. no hearing. you're gone.

IN the usa, the illegals are given free food, free jobs, free medical, free education, etc. - ON a platter too.

IN the usa, the illegals get treated better than american citizens are.

and you wonder why I am so enraged???

what really makes it more frustrating is - the media in california who is supported by the hearst corporation won't allow you to voice your opinion on the subject in their forums.

if the word "illegal" comes up in your post, they will immediately censor it claiming your post is racist. talk about bullshit.

as can be expected, the main topic of discussion amongst the lounge lizards tonight was the - economy. earlier today, we saw the hong kong stock market take a 13% dive - mind you, this is in one day. we also saw japan's stock market reach a 25 year old low. the shanghai index is down 70% from it's high. thailand's stock market is close behind - it's index down 60% from it's high earlier in the year.

so, what is up, you ask?

..as I see it, nothing short of a once in a lifetime event. most of the people I spoke to agree that we are about to experience a major depression that none of us have ever experienced before.

we will need a miracle to get out of this one.

I happen to believe that such a long shot miracle exists. but will it be in time? that is the big question.
